I have just received a telegram from Sir Alexander Grantham asking me to send you a copy of his savingram about establishing an Endowment Fund for the Hong Kong University.
Sir Alexaner has suggested a meeting between Colonial Office representativos, yourself and Sir Arthur Fores, Mr. T.N. Chau and Colonel Ride to discuss what we can do to find a solution to this thorny problem of ensuring that the University has adequate funds to carry on its activities.
Colonel Ride is due to return to Hong Kong next Friday the 20th July, It appears from your programs that you will be in Church House for an address by the Chief of the Imperial Staff at 10.30 a.m. on Monday the 16th July and perhaps you could then come up, after the address, to room 344 for a meeting with Sir Christopher Cox, Colonel Ride, Er. alter Adars and myself.
If Monday is not convenient the only other date I can suggest is Thursday the 19th July, but in that case I am not sure whether Mr. ".N. Chau would be available as he may be doing the tour of Scotland,
I have written to Sir Arthur Borac and br. T.N. Chau in similar terme and I very much hope that such a meeting can be arranged as suggested above.
